Welcome, an introduction from our Chairman

WELCOME! - BIENVENUE! - WILLKOMMEN! - BIENVENIDO!

Mutley's Hangar is proud to announce our latest development - Mutley's Easter Bunny Air Rally (MEBAR 2011). We hall had such an enjoyable time flying the Great Australian AIr Rally in February, that we persuaded our friends in Bluegrass Airlines to help us run a similar event in the U.K.

For those of you unfamiliar with the Air Rally concept, our objective is to have fun, like we had in our Around The World Challenge, but this is more a test of your navigational skills. Beginner or old-timer there is something for everyone. We supply the route, the weather and the challenges, you do the rest.

MEBAR 2011 - a.k.a. the Great U.K. Air Rally (GUKAR 2011) - will be held during Easter week at the end of April, and will be the next stage in the Great Air Rallies Grand Prix series conceived by Bluegrass Airlines. Andrew Godden, who has organised the GAAR for the last several years, has kindly agreed to join our Rally Committee and assist in organising MEBAR, so we're in very good hands.

MEBAR consists of 4 Legs around the south-western part of Britain, starting and ending at our 'home' at Southampton International EGHI. Like the GAAR, there's a Test Flight to be completed prior to Registration, to establish your aircraft type and cruising speed. Further details of the Test Flight, Rally Route and Rules, PIREPs, etc., can be found by clicking on the navigation tabs at the top of the MEBAR 2011 website pages. The home page has a few more links that we could not fit on the tabs so be sure to make our home page, your home page!

Because MEBAR 2011 will be our first Rally, we'll be keeping it simple by asking you to select either a single or twin prop aircraft, but that's the only real limitation. We're hoping to add to the fun with a selection of prizes, donated by our sponsors. All participants that complete all 4 Legs of MEBAR 2011 will be entered into a Prize Draw and there will be special prizes for the Best Rally Screenshot for both FS9 and FSX categories.

Unfortunately, there is a need to have rules to successfully conduct events such as the MEBAR  2011.  The rules, including detailed explanation of eligible aircraft, flight dates, reporting times, and other requirements are contained under the "Rules" link.

If you are interested in registering for the MEBAR 2011, have completed the test flight and have read and understand the rules and requirements for participating, click on the "Pilot Reg" link.

Please note: Pilot registration closes 23:59 UTC on Good Friday 22nd April 2011.

So, fire up your sim (FS9 or FSX) and get cracking on the Test Flight! MEBAR 2011, and the fun starts here!
